A few months ago I was very happy to receive an email from Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Fair team, inviting me to be a trader. Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Fair is a very big event celebrating British crafting culture, set in the scenic views of Hampton Court Palace, held over 3 days from 16th-18th September.
The fair is interactive, with workshops by leading makers imparting their knowledge and tips to participants, Grand Makes for those who want to create crafting projects with the experts, and theatretalks by leading creatives. Then there are the food vendors, the artisan food market, and the shopping village (where I will be!). The shopping village is filled to the brim with handmade products of the highest quality, presented by the makers themselves who have been hand picked for their skills and product quality.
With the event expecting to exceed 16, 000 attendees, this will be the largest craft fair I have ever taken part in…a big ask within my first 6 months of pyrography! Now there is only two months to go until the big event, I am busy working away in my studio in an attempt to make enough stock.
It’s really exciting to be taking part in the event, and I have lots of lovely items planned from bespoke personalised kitchenware, cute pyrography accessories, to large pointillism artwork and limited edition prints. It’ not all going to be glamorous though, as Dave and I will be camping out in the back of our van sleeping amongst my stock each night of the event. So do come along and say hi, we would love to see you there and share the experience with you!
